CM Kisan Yojana 2024 (Online Apply)

In a significant move to support farmers in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will officially launch the CM-KISAN Yojana on September 8, coinciding with the Nuakhai festival. The scheme, which is an updated version of the previous Kalia Yojana, will be inaugurated during Majhi’s visit to Sambalpur. The CM-KISAN Yojana aims to provide essential financial aid to small, nomadic, and landless farmers, ensuring they receive the assistance they need.

Chief Minister’s Visit to Sambalpur

As part of his schedule, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will embark on a two-day visit to Sambalpur starting from September 8. During this visit, he will participate in the ‘Nuakhai Bhetghat’ programmes and launch the much-anticipated CM-KISAN Yojana.

Renaming of Kalia Yojana to CM-KISAN Yojana

In a strategic move by the Odisha government, the Kalia Yojana, introduced by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government, has been renamed the CM-KISAN Yojana. This renaming is symbolic of the state’s renewed focus on providing enhanced support to the farming community.

Financial Assistance Under CM-KISAN Yojana

The CM-KISAN Yojana is set to offer financial assistance to both eligible and landless farmers in Odisha. Here’s a breakdown of the benefits under this scheme:

  • Eligible Farmers:
Each eligible farmer will receive an annual sum of ₹4,000, which will be disbursed in two installments.

  • Landless Farmers:
Landless farmers, often the most vulnerable, will be granted ₹12,500 in three installments.

To benefit from this scheme, farmers must register through the CM-KISAN Grievance Portal for inclusion in the program.

Disbursement of Payments on Special Occasions

The Odisha government plans to make the payments under the CM-KISAN Yojana on Akshay Tritiya and Nuakhai, two significant festivals in the region. This initiative is intended to provide much-needed financial support to farmers during these culturally important times.
